初代(故)田中武夫は愛知県豊橋市出身。戦後、京都で本格的な表具の技術を学ぶために上洛し、文化財の修復を手掛ける工房で修行を積み、その後京都市で1953年(昭和28年)独立し、数多くの修理修復を手掛けてきました。 お客様の作品に対する想いを大切にし、時には作品保護のアドバイスも行い、良い状態で表具を後世に残すことを心掛け、100年後の表具作業への架け橋となっています。

Founder Takeo Tanaka was born in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture.
After the war, Takeo Tanaka came to Kyoto to study HYOGU technology in earnest.
After learning his craft at a workshop in Kyoto that restored items of cultural importance, Takeo Tanaka founded Kouseidou, where he would oversee numerous repair and restoration projects.
